Who am I and what do I do?
I am an network engineer with over 10 years experience, and in that time I have worked at Hawaii Pacific University, Innovative Network solutions and as an independent consultant. I now run my own business consulting and helping corporations plan, fix and maintain their IT infrastructure. My client list to date include HaleKipa, Hawaii Government Employees Association and most recently Department of Water supply, County of Hawaii.
I specialize in designing networks that are secure, reliable and efficient; while maintaining cost effectiveness and agility to change as the company's goals change. I am adept at troubleshooting problems in both networks and server systems, as well as looking at ways to prevent such issues from occurring again. Along these lines I also identify where efficiency can be improved, during the troubleshooting process.
I have deployed numerous voice over IP installations, having deployed one of the first VoIP systems in Hawaii. Managing and designing systems with as little as a few dozen phones to upwards of 1000 phones. In recent years, I have been virtualizing servers using vmware technologies to better leverage current assets; as well as to simplify server deployments and upgrades. I have also worked on web development projects for the university as both project manager and as part of the development team.
